Founded in July 2020

A New Light in Ogu

The Anglican Church of the Advent, Ogu Sandfield, is a vibrant addition to the Diocese of Okrika. It started on Friday, July 17, 2020, during the peak of a visionary expansion period for the Bishop's Chaplaincy. Driven by a desire to reach every corner of the community, the church quickly found its footing through the dedication of its early members and the support of the Diocesan leadership.

On June 19, 2022 (Father's Day), the Bishop, Rt. Revd. Enoch Atuboyedia, visited the church for a monumental service where he encouraged the faithful to remain steadfast. The church has seen rapid development, including the successful election and inauguration of its first Parochial Church Council (PCC) in early 2025.

Building for the Future

As part of its growth, the church has successfully initiated and significantly advanced the building of its parsonage, with the foundation laying ceremony performed by the Bishop himself. Through generous donations and community efforts, including the acquisition of additional land for expansion, the Church of the Advent continues to shine as a beacon of hope and a center for spiritual nourishment in Ogu Sandfield.
