Youthful Vision
A Call for a Worship Centre
The good people of Abam-Ama are spread across three geographical areas—their ancestral home Ambeme biri-Okrika Town, Abam I, and Abam II. Historically, the people of the Abam I Community worshiped in neighboring George Ama and later crossed over to worship in Abam II.
In December 2009, an inspiring need to establish an Anglican worship center right in their community was raised by the Youth Fellowship President, Mr. B. S.D. Ibamieyeofori. Embracing this vision during his tenure as Vicar of St. Luke's, Revd. Bennett T. Ibiene organized a powerful three-day crusade.
Inauguration
The Planting in 2010
Following the crusade, the church was beautifully planted on Sunday, 31st January 2010. The very first service was held in the Abam 1 Community Hall under the approval of Chief Sunday J. O. Bamson. On that monumental day, the Archdeacon of Okrika West Archdeaconry, Ven. Tamuno-Opubo E. Lasbrey, christened it the Anglican Church of the Beatitudes.
Progress
Growth and Revival
Evangelist Philip Aduko emerged as the pioneer Church Teacher, elevating the church to greater heights with steadfast morning and evening revival programs. When Bishop T. R. Abere visited on July 11, 2013, he strongly admonished the brethren to remain committed to Christ's teachings.
Evangelist Graham P. George later stepped in, continuing an aggressive door-to-door evangelism that expanded the church's spiritual and numerical strength. To God be the glory!
